Current Spotify Release “Let Us Sing”

Let us sing is my folk song about the unity of singing in a community or group.  I have been in several choirs through the years and have felt a strong sense of unity when I have sung in a group.  This is a special song for me and I wrote it after I was in a Broadway review show at Sierra College.  Each night before the performance, the cast members would gather around in a circle and hold hands.  Our director Ray would wish us all the best for a fabulous performance that evening. 

On closing night, we gathered in a circle and he gave us each a rose to hold.  After we each got our rose he had us give them back to him and put them in a beautiful vase.  He took the vase into the orchestra pit so each one of us could view the roses during our performance.  He said that when it was our turn to perform, to always remember how unique and special we are. 

What a wonderful inspiration to have before our final performance!  His message brought tears to my eyes and I will always remember the impact of what he said to us that night. I hope my song honors this memory!
